Valence for Android 1.5.17 alpha - Up to three searches in one question
Web search can now look up more than one thing at a time, and four everyday fixes.
- Up to three searches in one question. Ask “what’s the weather in Seattle and in Miami?” or “gold, silver and bitcoin prices?” and Valence searches each one separately. Every search gets its own card, and all the sources are listed together under the answer.
- No web search when you’re offline. If the phone has no internet, Valence skips the search and says so in one line instead of failing.
- Old messages keep their real times. Reopening a saved chat now shows when each message was sent, with the date if it wasn’t today.
- Sources stay inside the reply. In reopened chats, the Sources list and the “web search isn’t set up” note sit inside the reply bubble.
- “Chat nearly full” no longer appears after one search. A question that ran two searches could raise the warning straight away, even in a brand-new chat.
The on-device model answers from short excerpts of each web page, so it can still miss a detail further down a page, or answer one part of a two-part question better than the other.
